Spiritual Meaning of the Flower Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse

Spiritual Meaning of the Flower Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse

Date and Time: May 26 at 7:14 A.M. EDT

This May’s Full Moon coincides with a total lunar eclipse! A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth is squarely between the Moon and the Sun, throwing its shadow on the Moon. During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon is completely veiled by the Earth's shadow, giving it a crimson color. The term "blood moon" derives from this phenomenon. Many cultures refer to May's full moon as the flower moon thanks to the abundant blooming that occurs as spring gets going properly.

With the Full Moon and lunar eclipse in Sagittarius, we can anticipate an increase in knowledge and insight. Sagittarius is known for its capacity to discover luck in the darkest of times and to create wisdom from adversity. Also, eclipses indicate fated occasions when the universe may drive us closer or further away from our goals.  With the Full Moon and lunar eclipse in the sign of Sagittarius, we can expect to experience an expansion of knowledge and understanding. Sagittarius is notable for its ability to find luck in even the darkest times and create wisdom out of dim situations. If that wasn't enough, in astrology, eclipses represent fated times in which the universe may push us closer or further away from our goals. Trust that what was meant to be yours will blow in your direction, and what wasn’t intended for you will disappear.

Eclipses are heralds of change, ushering in metamorphosis. Lunar eclipses are the climax of completed emotional cycles, and they push us to let go of feelings and attachments that are no longer serving us.

Anything released during an eclipse is usually permanent, so if you've been waiting for the right time to let something go, now is the time. It's not a good idea to act rashly during an eclipse because adrenaline levels are high. Make use of this opportunity to rest, contemplate, and let go of the obsolete mindsets that have been holding you back.

Whatever is happening in your life is natural to the cycles of transition and change, and that it is all for the greater good.
